I just switched from the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 to the Apollo Twin (USB) on Windows 10. I was using the ASIO driver before and I am still using it now with the twin.
Now whenever Ableton is open no other application can play audio. I went into Sound and changed the configuration for the sound card and unchecked "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device." Even though this was enabled for the Scarlet 2i2 and it never had a problem. Just like is shown here: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... s-Windows-
Has anyone encountered this issue or know what could be going on? It's not an option for me to not be able to play audio from other applications while using Ableton for a variety of reasons, so any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Ableton Blocking Audio with Apollo Twin
Re: Ableton Blocking Audio with Apollo Twin
Just to be sure, as it is a little unclear from the above.... you did install the Apollo ASIO drivers, right?I was using the ASIO driver before and I am still using it now with the twin.
Did you restart Windows after you changed the settings?
Also UAD suggests doing the same operation for the inputs as well:

Re: Ableton Blocking Audio with Apollo Twin
In addition to the above make sure the Windows driver's sample rate on Input and Output matches that of the ASIO application (i.e. Live's Audio Preferences).leptone wrote:Now whenever Ableton is open no other application can play audio. ASIO locks the driver to the sample rate the application demands, when the system's driver is mismached, other applications can't play, but won't display any warning.
