Drummer Launch MIDI Pad

Hello!

I'm a drummer who uses Ableton to trigger pre-recorded playback scenes. I'm seeking advice on what other drummers use to trigger the Launch button (besides a MIDI keyboard).

I'm looking for a pad that I can hit with my drumstick while playing, but also not be too concerned about hitting the same spot each time. In other words, devices with multiple pads (like a Roland SPD) would *not* be desirable since there is a chance that I'd hit the wrong pad!

are you playing MIDI drums or acoustic?

A mix of both acoustic and electronic drums (Roland TD-30). I could use a Roland pad, but I’m curious as to what others are using too.

if you already have a TD-30 then i would DIY (or buy) a simple device that uses one of your TD-30 trigger inputs to be your launch thing...
