How to find out with which Ableton version project is saved?

Post by prprprpr » Thu Feb 21, 2019 12:16 am

Hi,

Question is self-explanatory. I have some old projects and want to mix them, however, when I open those projects with Ableton 10 it doesn't sound the same. So I want to download the old version of Ableton and open with them, but I don't remember which version was the project saved with.

How do I find this out? Thank you in advance.

In your project folder there is a folder called Ableton Project Info and a file called Project8_1.cfg.

This is a binary file so will be mostly garbage but if you open in a text editor (a plain text editor) you should see down the bottom some numbers after either a $ or # and that is the version. Here is:

Code: Select all
