WASAPI audio drivers support

Post by just_in » Fri Jan 18, 2013 12:53 pm

Here it says WASAPI drivers are not supported because "the drivers are rarely used".

I think especially people using laptops would like to have those as an option, since Asio4all is not multiclient.

I tried WASAPI in Reaper and it worked fine.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but this would be a massive +1 from me too.
Now that Windows 8.1 is stable and becoming more and more mainstream, I feel like WASAPI support is something that needs to be reconsidered.

definitely +1 for WASAPI

On some systems, to some people, WASAPI sounds better than ASIO.

Windows Users can't use multiple USB-Audiodevices because of the missing WASAPI support.
Like all the Boutique-Synths and others too, USB-Audio has become quite comon on Synths, so it would be really apreciated if Ableton would support that by supporting WASAPI.
I'm afraid because many developers use Macs, they dont see why it should be done when it works in OSX...
