There's no rule. It'll be delivered when it's considered stable enough.
Thanks.

I think the problem ableton may have had with the multi/tool is perhaps the idea of needing to have a toolbar.

Thats not really necessary though. Toolbars are rarely used other than as indicators of the current tool. If a key such as "C" changed the cursor to a razor (my preference!) then no toolbar is needed. The cursor is the indicator.
There would only really need to be 4 or 5 keys to flip cursor mode.

I'm sure ableton could then fumble this simple system by worrying about how beginners need excessive hand-holding ... and then creating an "auto tool selection system" which automatically swaps tools on you just when you dont want it to. I can see it all now.
Not trying to start this whole debate again, but DP10 allows you do temporarily select the tool, hide the pallet from the transport bar etc.
It's really not that different than what Live does, except it slices to the quantize setting instead of random nonsense when slice dragging. :x :x

The new sidechain feature on VST plug-ins too is probably the standout feature as now it is just about as easy to sidechain on a VST as with Ableton native plug-ins.

Please give us comping lanes. Comping lanes are part of the basic requirements of a DAW in 2019.

Still no comping..... 8O
Can’t believe it. I’m still hoping it’s considered for 10.1

comping would be a large feature addition so I cannot imagine them adding it in any point version.

Point versions do have features added but they are usually building on what's already in place. Take a look at what got added in the point versions of L9 . There's nothing so huge as comping in there. comping would require massive changes to the clip and arrangment GUI. I think we can see that L10's focus is on the (new) automation page, and we could imagine additional features making their way into this newly available space. If you were to see comping you should expect to see container clips first. We haven't got those either.
