Again, rendering...

Post by c1c2 » Mon Sep 26, 2005 12:07 am

Hi,

I´m trying to render my set, but it just ain´t work.

I select _everything_ and live5 renders.
All voices appear in the mix, so I guess I set the markers fine.

But there are some strange things happen with the battery voices.
Some notes are missing, sometimes stranges noises appear,
that won´t during normal playback.

Seems like just the the battery voices are affected.
I´m trying to resample at the moment as a workaround,
but this really seems to be a bug.

Well, I´m just a non-pro, so this is not serious at all,
but I guess it should be improved.

BTW, I will be checking battery2 for updates, maybe I´m not using
the most updated version.

Live5 5.01 in use here.

Cheers
Philipp

Well, im not using Battery but i have the same random (loud!) noises problem when rendering with 5.01... It got so annoying that i ended up buying TapeIt2 for 20 bucks... A nice and neat little tool one would wish to see implemented in Live...
You can check it ou here: http://www.silverspike.com/?Products
I have to deliver some project and getting this plugin saved my nervous system from breaking down! Of course i could have rebounced everything on an audio track and record, but i am using lots of automation on some return tracks, and since they have a weird delay when bounced to an audio track, this trick could not work...
Saved me, really!
ah!... it's pc only....
Cheers

Hi c1c2,

we know that there are sometimes problems when rendering Live sets containing third party plug-ins. Mostly this is a problem with Sampler plug-ins who handle again with audio files.
As workaround you could try to record via "Resampling" instead of Rendering.

Alex

Hi all,

sorry for being so late answering.
Seems like the last days work was too much for my DAW. <g>

One electrolytic capacitor exploded, so I needed to do some hardware related research and re-build DAW. BTW: Stay away from EPOX Boards.. :D

@xuoham:
I also own TapeIT, I´m a plugin junky ;)
But I intended to use it only for doing the final mastering on the single
exported tracks . But nice anyway that you reminded me. :D
That was just a fast mixdown for checking...

@ Alex:
I did that workaround (as mentioned in my posting...), it worked.
I´ll write a bug report to NI as as soon as I have the time.
Maybe an option like "real-time export" would improve compatibility?

@dpel:
Thx anyways, I´ll check that again, though as I remember
checked that also. (It was pretty late that morning...)

Cheers

I've got rendering problems here too. The only third-party plugins I'm using are T-Racks and SIR. The render ends up with quite a number of suddens bursts of noise that sounds like bits of clips I'm not using (they're very short, so it's hard to be sure).

I've also worked around it, but I thought it worth saying 'me too' so it continues to be worked on!

As I see, there are plugin-independent rendering issues.
Maybe I should be careful with a bug report to NI...

I having the same problem with using Battery 2 (with latest update)

When rendering to disk the drums from battery just sound like short bursts of clipped distorted sound.

So maybe it is an NI thing... using Live 5.01

If you guys know it's battery, just record the battery track on an audio track, and turn battery off

It's not NI specific, my track uses no NI plugins. In fact it uses no samplers at all, just mastering plugs (EQ, compressor, etc), and a convolution reverb.

When I have some time I'm going to see if I can pin it down to something specific.

Not sure if this will help anyone else, but for interest's sake ...

I've found that if I turn delay compensation off, ALL the rendering glitches vanish!

I'm stripping the project way back to a single clip that demonstrates the problem, and I'll then send that to Ableton.

@gwydi:

As soon as my new DAW is set up, I´ll try that, too.
Seems I will have a working system by this weekend..
