problem with sound output
I have recently purchased live 2.0 as well as an audiophile 2496 pci card, I installed both on my G4 running OS 10.2 and they both ran fine. I imported an audio file into Live, then adjusted the input/output setting as suggested in the manual, but am still having trouble getting any sound output. I know it is not the pci card because I can play audio through iTunes. I am not sure whether or not i need an audio driver ie. Asio or Core Audio, or I am just making some idiotic mistkae. Thank you for your feedback.

I'm not an expert myself, but have you:
preferences > Audio tab. Selected your AudioPhile card and it's output?
Have you imported the file into the Arranger view, or the session view?
If you are trying to hear it from the file menu on the left (in one of the browsers) have you activated the play button (upward arrow2 buttons left of where it says "Desktop")
Please forgive me if you feel this is all obvious.
You say the card worked fine - which application did you test it with?
Arfe you running Live as stand-alone, or as a rewire slave to another application (like Logic?) in which case have you set up a rewire input in that application?

just some additional clarifications.
So far ASIO is not available under OS X. There are just CoreAudio drivers.
So if you can select the Audiophile in Live's audio preferences the CoreAudio driver should be already installed right. Furthermore the CPU usage display in the right upper corner should display a value > 0%.
If you add clips into Live and (play)fire them you should see if there's a visible signal in the level meter of the corresponding track.
Next you should look into the bus view (available from the View menu or with the "bus" symbol in the right lower corner). The levels there represent the physical ins & outs of the currently selected audio interface. If you see a level there a signal should come out from the Audiophile.
