all the songs in the video starts with some sort of click, or metranome. He just already has 1 loop down. Personally, im fine with that :)

Ya, im kinda confused how people are having a problem. Maybe I have global quantise set on (I've never messed with it)

but I do this all the time (after seeing the kb video). Hit the record a beat or half beat before 1, and a beat or half beat before 1 again, and it loops perfectly.

I did this track with live looping:

---> bemused,

please note that you have to hit the button two times. First to start the recrording and second to stop the recording. If the launch clip preferences are set to "trigger" the loop will start playing right where you stop recording ( = starts looping). If loop launch references are set to "toggle" the recording will not start looping back at the "stop recording" point. Instead it will then start looping the next time you hit the button.

Everybody, thanks for the help and your comments. The problem was my "Default" for triggering the clips was not set to "Global", so when I'd "punch out" on recording a clip it wasn't staying in time.

I've adjusted the Default Clip Trigger to "Global" and now it works perfectly.

Thanks again for your help everyone!

you coul set up a 'tic' track and route it to a headphone output... that way you can use it as a metronome when you're laying down that crucial first loop.

i asked about this long ago, and still find it odd that there's no way to specify the length of the loop before hand or have a default loop length, so that you do not have to click the second time to start play back of the loop (even though quantize ensures you don't have to worry too much about the timing of the second click). almost invariably, the bulk of the loops i'm recording in any given song are of the same length. gets a little tiresome to go in and fix loop length afterwards (yes, whining about a product i love).

you can turn the cue level off, turn on the metronome, and then you can synch visualy to the metronome light....
