MIDI Sync with MOTU and Miss Aligned Recordings

Post by Willful » Tue Nov 19, 2019 4:42 am

So I'm having an issue where I am running Ableton as my master clock sending to my MOTU midi express and out to 4 hardware pieces where I can align the audio coming out by setting a -62.5ms on the MIDI sync delay of the MOTU out, but when I record the audio or midi information in, it is all hitting the track early. Thus, I am getting the first note of everything cut off.

I am running a presonus 1810 with a 256 buffer at 44.1 and 24bit. I have run the driver error compensation to get the audio aligned.

I understand from a logical perspective the having the -62.5ms on the sync delay would obviously change the timing of the information coming in. But wouldn't Ableton know this and then correct the track?

Is there no way for me to have aligned sonic output and recorded information? (and no I don't want to use the direct monitoring through my interface, as I am using plugins on the incoming channels)
