why was this removed since 10?

From Live's help files about the audio browser :

"Short samples in Live 10
Clips shorter than 2.5 seconds will always play back un-synced, even if transport is running."


Previewing short samples synced (up until 9.7.7) made previewing one shot drums super intuitive and kept the momentum of sound designing and mangling going.

for exemple while the song was playing, you were able to browse through kicks in time and in context to your tune. removing the timed playback of short samples destroyed a very efficient workflow when browsing through one shots, or try to layer multiple one shots

what's the reasoning behind this weird move?
