Seasons Greetings!
I am trying to add favorite patches to a folder in Live for sounds from Kontour, Rounds, Massive X, etc. but when I find the path there is nothing in any of the folders...

Why not create the folder in My documents (windows I take it but you give no system details), then in Ableton sidebar simply Add that Folder.
Live 11, M1 Mac Mini, Push 2, Scarlett 18i20 & ADA8200, Softube Console 1 Mk2, Deepmind12, Hydrasynth, Cobalt 8M, Moog Subsequent 25, IK Uno Synth Pro, Plethora X3, Nord Drum 3P

How are you creating these favourites?
You cannot just load a preset file specifically for a VST from Live as live is not sure what to do with presets for a VST.
What you need to do is in Live is load an Instrument Rack device then add your VST to that rack. Load up whatever preset you like then use the save button of the Instrument rack to save that rack with the loaded instrument+preset as a Live file which you can load later. Good thing is this also saves any parameter and macro mappings you make.
