Using live 4 as a stand alone program

I"m currently using a mbox with live ,but everytime i want to use live without protools it won't open, how come? I know this can be done true? I think I could get alot more out this fine piece of software if I could just get this to work seaminglessly with or without protools?

okay, so you say it 'wont open'.

What does that mean?

Does it error? Does the OS crash? Does it say anything?

It's really hard to tell what you're doing without any details

okay maybe your right, let me try to be a bit clearer... if i am not using protools at all, the program is not opened, I want to use live by itself....but it just freezes,til I force quit it.

Thanks for the info everyone, but thought I could still use mboxes audio outs too?
