User Interface Layout options and mobility?

Post by Acutuslux » Tue Jan 28, 2020 7:40 am

Ok, so basically I have spent a lot of time trying to create these images to kinda express my frustration, as well as hopefully find like minds who would also like to see these (simple) change's, or at least have the option to move where these elements are located.

I realize I lose a bit of screen space on one hand but gain so much in the fact that I have a widescreen in the first place, and dual-screen setup, having to look all the way to the right of the screen to see what track I am on when I generally work from right to left, is not only a pain, it is kinda confusing after working in so many other DAWs over the years...

Hope I'm not crazy... And I hope this option would be available in future updates/patches... thanks for any and all feedback!

EDIT: After reading some of the threads on here.
I too would also love to see a timeclock and after seeing the empty space I made, I figured why not fill it with some extra feature ideas that would be great for scoring and video time stamping.

RED NUMBER MEANINGS
1. Play from first locator, or the beginning (default)
2. + Add locator button
3. Jump to Next Locator
4. Go to last locator

Another feature I did not move because of laziness would be to flip the time markers at the bottom with the ones from the top, so that it is minutes at the top, but more technical structure layout at the bottom.

So two people say No, to something that would be an option, not mandatory... I dont see why people dont see this as I do...

Every other DAW is basically setup where like reading a book, it goes from left to right...

But I mean, w/e

Guess ill get a smartass remark about how I should make better life choices, fucking worthless forum, all it does is cost your company money to maintain... and you dont even respond to your customers anyways, what was the point of taking the time to illustrate the point, oh yeah... there wasnt one... thanks, doesnt supprise me, everything else on this shit hole planet is overworked and underpaid, guess you guys are too.

The forums are provided for users to interact, it’s not an official support outlet and Ableton doesn’t respond to threads.

Also, please follow the community guidelines posted at the top of every subforum. Insulting comments aren’t going to get you anything but banned.

If I were going to do this, I'd go full bore and move the browser all the way to the right. I'd probably be more comfortable with this arrangement, but I can live without it. Nice tantrum. -1

Go ahead and ban me, if it will make you feel better inside. I dont really care, besides this forum is absolutely useless to me.
