CPU overload with maximum 50%

Post by Geahn » Wed Feb 19, 2020 11:24 am

Hello everyone.

My laptop isn't the best, but I've run the ableton without gagging in a worse setting. However, it is overloaded with less than 50% CPU processing, I really don't understand why this is happening and since I'm not an expert, I'm not able to solve this problem. The Laptop runs only the Ableton, nothing more and has the audio choking all the time because of the overload.

What can I do? Has anyone encountered this bug?

Intel i3 2328m. SSD 240GB (30% used) and 8GB RAM.

The percentage in the task manager takes multiple core into account, which means you won't see any program hitting 100% if it's not using all cores of the CPU.
Audio processing can't be done full parallel, so it can bottleneck on a single core, and this is likely to be your case.

Your setup is prettty weak, that's not a bug. Using external audio interfaces reduces CPU so consider having one if you are using ASIO4ALL or something.
