Live 10 Annoying crackles despite low CPU

Post by Mirau » Wed Mar 18, 2020 3:23 pm

Hi!

I have a brand new Macbook Pro and a fresh Live 10 installation.
The CPU is at 1% and I have 64GB of RAM and plenty of disk space.

Non the less Live is giving me annoying crackles. Changing buffer size does not help.

Already installed new audio drivers (UAD Apollo8) and deleted Live preference files.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Are you running any other programs that could be stealing resources.

Any other unrelated hardware that could be stealing resources.

What are your current buffer settings.

Are you getting pops and clicks with a small project or is it of suitable size?

Could any plugins be causing issue?

Are your UAD drivers up to date?

Are you running the recommend OSX versions?

Have you checked your CPU temp? CPU overheating issues can be sneaky. Alot of resource meters cant detect them, but if running too hot, your CPU will reduce performance in order to keep from destroying itself.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=230967 might be worth trying.
