How handle groups when exporting tracks for mixing

Post by ricochet50 » Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:13 am

Hi there,

during the arrangement we normally group our tracks into e.g. drums, percussion, bass groups, and also in more than one levels.
And we also apply certain effects to these group tracks, e.g. a glue compressor, group reverb, etc.
What i'm wondering is: How do i handle those group tracks when it's time to export my tracks for mixing into WAV files?
Normally i'm interested in the single track WAV files only, so what about the group tracks and their effects applied?
Should the grouping mechanism while arranging only be used to visually group single channels but not for applying effects?

Thank you for your opinions!
