Hello guys.
I just install the (ABLETON LITE VERSION)) because I been working in a personal project were I need this software while I perform as a Dj..pretty sure this question is been resolved before.
I'm giving it a try because I wanna buy the full version. but fIrts to first. the software is so far excelent. but I'm having a big problems with the audio. if I do any midi or audio track the audio start making repetitions... like delays..I was trying to fix the buffer size...it didn't work.... so now im going to try to put the library and packs in different external drive. I believe that there is the problem.
I have a (lacie external drive). and I already did the partition.
I was reading in Ableton website that I can add a third party external drive. but I can't do that. my computer doesn't have enough ports to do that, I can only connect two in my Mac.
FIRTS: ABLETON SHOULD WORK FINE IF I PUT THE LIBRARY IN ONE AND THE PACKS IN THE SECOND ONE?
second : COULD BE A DIFFERENT PROBLEM?
also this is the equipment that i'm using just in case if this could help resolving the little headache.
*Macpro 2018 ( I connect here my ((*external and a an *external hyperdrive)) that allows me multiple connections because my Mac is su& and doesn't have enough..
*traktor s8 dj controller ( I attach to this controller a (*physical midi instrument) as well that it send the information directly to my Mac.
sometimes I use another external audio interface for another purpose, and sometimes I just take the chance going directly with the s8 because it works fine just like that.
The issue its been always the same no matter what connection I do with Ableton. I can't perform right now with Ableton because this problem. if I use other programs in my computer all of them individually and together work find and perfect, but I cannot make it in ableton by it self. Please any help I'll aprreciate a lot.

Hi there - if you have more than 1 connection on one of the 2 drives, you might be able to daisy-chain a 3rd ext drive to it. i used to do this with firewire hard drives all the time. chain one into another.

If you are monitoring incoming audio both through the interface and Live that can cause the kind of symptoms you seem to be describing.
You can put the Live library and packs anywhere you like, so long as you tell Live where they are in preferences.
Mac internal SSDs, assuming you have one, are so fast I doubt the problem is to do with the speed of the internal drive. As for external SSDs, be aware you can’t send TRIM commands to an SSD over a Mac’s USB system, it requires a Thunderbolt drive. So USB SSDs are best used if you put stuff on them that is mostly written once then read (like the packs) rather than using them to record to.
I’m not sure what Mac you have - in 2018 the “Mac Pro” was still the old “trash can” one which had lots of places to connect USB and Thunderbolt stuff, as does the iMac Pro and new Mac Pro. Do you mean MacBook Pro?
