Performing Live, switching songs

I'm trying to find a good solution for performing live.
As a singer-songwriter, all I need to do is start an audio track and change audio effect racks.
I'm only using three tracks. One for bass, one for guitar and one for a drum track.
That's easy enough, but when I add more than more than three effects racks, even if three are turned off, there is a lag when I play a note on the guitar (which is where all of the effects racks are).

Is there a better way to do this? Loading each song takes much too long.

You're using 3rd party plugins in your racks, right?

Yes, 100%.
But the CPU load is very low, no more than 30%.
