Session view clip question [beginner]
Session view clip question [beginner]
I have 17 bars long pad on the midi clip
I have 1 bar long of drum on another audio clip
I want that 1 bar audio clip to play just before the first one finish. Say like start playing at 16.2.1
I saw warp section has start end boxes i believe for what i am looking for but no matter how many time i tried my clip won't play.
Am i missing something?

Re: Session view clip question [beginner]
Hi,
When in the view where everything runs from left to right (Arrangement view) you can zoom in and place the 1 bar clip to start at any time you want - the more you zoom, the more control over the start time. There may be a more automated way of doing it, but I'm pretty new too =)

Thanks for reply, but i never done anything in the arrangement view. If you are saying i have to do this in arrangement view then i know it can't be done in session view. Launching clips from session view is kind a interesting to me

Re: Session view clip question [beginner]
Launching a clip one bar before the end of another clip is straight forward? you just press play just before the last bar begins. If you want to start it off the first beat you need to change a setting to allow the parameter to launch on, for example, quarter beat. Sorry I cant be more precise than that because its been a long time since I messed with that kinda stuff, but I have done it many moons a go. Someone else may be able to provide a more robust answer...

Thanks again. I am triggering clips externally and i am busy with other synth parameters. Midi clips are fine because i can extend just pulling it. Hoping that someone knows the answer
Re: Session view clip question [beginner]
Create the MIDI clip in a MIDI track and put the audio clip in a scene at the same level on an audio track.
Set the start point of the audio clip to be at -17 or whatever bars - either using the pull-down menus or by sliding the clip start marker in clip view leftwards. When the scene is triggered it will then start at that point and you will have silence until it reaches the bar with audio in it.
Trigger both clips at the same time and that should do what you want.
Clip start and end markers and time settings are very useful for adding empty space at the beginning or end of a clip, setting a start point that’s different to where the clip loops to cope with upbeats and stuff like that.

Re: Session view clip question [beginner]
Hi, thanks for the answer. I tried to follow what you said. But in the clip view i can't find any box that i can enter start- end time.
In the clip view: Clip, Launch, Sample, Envelopes only place appears to me is envelope section, as i said yellow arrow top right where the envelope is written greyed. Look like can not alter start stop and already can't
By the way my pad is midi channel already. But i still created another midi track and created 17 bars long midi clip still same

Re: Session view clip question [beginner]
There are three (at least) ways of setting a clip length and start and end points.
One is the boxes next to the “warp” switch in the sample box shown in your photograph. If necessary switch warp on to activate them.
The other is by dragging the small black triangles in the graphic that shows the clip content. They often aren’t very visible but they are there. When dragged they might take the loop point markers with them, just readjust the loop points (if you have activated looping on the clip) afterwards. To get the points moving when dragged you might need to zoom all the way out of the clip. Alternatively set the “start” box to a negative figure then zoom out and drag.
The third way is to copy the audio clip into arrangement view, leaving space in front of it. Select the clip and enough space to allow for the extra time you need then consolidate the selection. That should create a longer audio clip which can then be pasted back into session view if required.

Thank you, it's done. Start will go minus that's why i struggle. I checked wrap and set time like -14.4.2 very good now.
