What gear can we add to our live set up?

Is there any equipment anyone would suggest as to not render one of us obsolete? Since it would be easy for just one of us to do the whole set on our own.

I think is the key thing. You need to think how you're going to split the music between the two of you, then get the appropriate gear. For instance, one of you doing drum and percussion parts, the other synths and effects. Or one doing all the sequenced stuff, the other live keyboards and/or drum pads.

Have a look at Jon Hopkins sets, very minimal from what I see and looks like a load of Korg Kaoss pads.. As some one mentioned earlier External FX and a mixer can go a long way.
