When it's synced to another device, you can't arm or activate the recording in to a slot. You can't hit that circle in the session view. You need to play it first. It means your performance must start by running sequence from external device then ableton follows it immediately, then you hit the record circle but there is no more sync already.
I am sure i am missing something. I want ableton start play and record simultaneously
I never thought i can't record an audio into daw

Can you be more specific??
Which "another device" are you talking about?
What type of synchronisation?
etc...

Sorry, it was very late last knight
Another device means external device that Ableton synced to it
Its a synchronization i activate in the Ableton settings. Ableton won't start a song unless synced device starts. So it means they are synced right? The problem is an audio recording while sync is active
I made a quick video here

It’s normal for a DAW to follow the transport controls of whatever hardware it is synced to, just like a sequencer will follow the transport controls of whatever the sequencer is synced to.
As with any DAW the easiest answer is to sync the hardware to Live, not the other way round.

You are right, yesterday i tried same setup with Reason, also couldn't record. Cubase won't even have option to be a slave. Still learning
