Changing songs or live sets with midi?
Howdy
I'm working with the demo and digging it. The midi is very intuitive and easy to configure. I'm currently using triggers on my instrument to activate samples etc. My show has to be totally hands-off the computer. The one thing I can't seem to figure out is how to bring up different "songs sets" or "live sets" using midi? Is this possible? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No need.
Just build everything into one big Live set and control everything via MIDI.
My current set has 82 tracks (mostly MIDI) and 500+ scenes, and it works perfectly, although I cut them down to 100 scenes for gigging.
It does take about 30 seconds to load and close, but I only have to do that once a night. Thankfully, it only takes a few seconds to save.
If I didn't have to look at the screen to scroll to the desired scene, I wouldn't need a screen at all. My next MIDI controller will solve that problem with unlimited buttons with labels for scene/sample launches.

Thanks Hambone
That's just the kind of idea that I was looking for. Can you use program change messages to change from song to song. For example, I have about 9 triggers plugged into my DM pro that will midi into ableton to trigger samples. currently I use a simple program change pedal (midi mouse) to bring up my different kits/banks or songs as I call them. At the gigs I don't want to ever touch or even look at the computer. Is this doable?
Thanks again for this idea.

8 tracks surround audio, 40 tracks DMX lighting, 22 tracks video, live percussion patch, audio, & monitor, click, and a few IAC tracks.
It sounds more than it is. For example, each scanner uses 6 tracks for pan, tilt, color, gobo, gobo rotation, and shutter, each color changer needs 4. Some of the video effects require up to 10 CCs, so the MIDI tracks do add up.
I've also stuck in a few tracks just with labels on just so I can remember what everything does!

ahhh i see. I would not want to have to dig through 80 tracks to try and find one liittle problem that is for sure. Props to that though and im glad to hear that it is working for you.
