Re: Macworld Luna review
Thanks for posting. I need to give this a go. I downloaded it day one, but ran into the good old "where the f#ck is my damn iLok dongle" issue so I couldn't get to play.
Then I got mad because I assumed it came with the Neve summing and the Studer...and, of course, they're $300 a pop. I don't think UA alluded to the fact you had to pay extra for that - but then again, I don't think they ever said it was free.
Either way, that article has piqued my interest. This would be a great tool for final mix-downs. Not that Ableton can't do it, just that I might as well learn to use Luna because I can.
You used it?

Yeah, I wrote the article. I'm out trying to generate more clicks so maybe I can write up others. It's done just "okay" in page views. Largely because UA was so low-key in the release.
Definitely has potential, but if you're not a Pro Tools person, you might not like the path it takes.

Well, great article, mate - because of your writing I gave Luna another chance. Had no problems with authentication or iLok this time. No dongle. Nothing.
Seems to be pretty interesting - the warping sounds pretty darn good to my ears.
I'll send the article URL to a music-school buddy of mine. They are totally locked into the UAD ecosystem, so they'll appreciate it.
