Dell Inspiron Comments? Is It Really That Good?

Post by Hypomixolydian » Sat Oct 01, 2005 10:28 am

Future Music recently did a run down on laptops and rated the Dell Inspiron 6000 rather highly. I have also read a few reviews on other PC magazines where they do the same. But, I see that the Inspiron 6000 is a Celeron. Aren't they supposed to be total crap?

Any comments??

the Inspiron 6000 can be a Celeron, but it can also be a Centrino 2.13Ghz

check under which specs the 6000 was tested in those magazines

this laptop can be as beefy as you want to be

if you're in the UK, DELL's currently doing a deal on the 6000, including free memory upgrade to 1GB.

check,check...check it out!

I have an Inspiron 6000 and I'm loving it. The one in the magazine was a basic spec because they were testing laptops under £1000. The double memory offer is abit poop really. What I did was cut the memory down to the lowest amount and then brought two 1gbs of ram to fit in each slot from Crucial.com. Dell over charge for memory like theres no tomorrow. I think I paid about 170 for both, dell would charge an extra 500 to add that much.

you dont expect someone to say "er no, sorry, i'm buying from Crucial"

Ha, ha! Well no you dont. But for me I would have preferred an offer on increased hard-drive capacity or something. I knew I wanted 2gigs of ram and to buy that much from dell would have been ridiculous. Its still a good offer if you werent planning to spend any extra on ram, though.
