Creating a sampled instrument

Post by apalomba » Mon Jun 08, 2020 9:16 pm

Hey folks, I am creating a sampled instrument from a set of instrument samples. I have added them to sampler and set their root key to the appropriate key. When I select all the samples and right click and select "sort by key", it does not map them in the right order. Meaning samples C4, D4, E4, etc are not mapped in order on the keyboard .

Is there something I am missing here?

Surely someone has used Sampler to create a multi-sampled instrument... Has no one tried this?

Live 10, I took a SAMPLER Piano preset, opened the chain selector's different modes, in all of them I right click and see "distribute ranges equally", I select it and I get a "stairstep" distribution like I'd expect.

I don't see a 'sort by key' option, I guess we're looking in two different places. :?

Okay I figured it out...
First you need to select all samples and then right click "distribute ranges around root key". Then you can sort samples by root key!
