BUYER BEWARE - Push 2 functionality with Sampler

Post by Noodles_ » Wed Jun 17, 2020 11:55 pm

Hey everybody

I had purchased Sampler because I've been hungry to have a sustained loop mode to get more out of my orchestral samples... It allows me to make a flute note hold for longer for example. The regular Simpler does not allow this. I've been sitting with the possibility of getting Sampler for a while now, and now that I'm working on a project that necessitates sustained loop mode I took the plunge.

HOWEVER within minutes after opening Sampler I was immediately put off by the lack of waveform within Sampler via my Push 2... There's no visual and no option for trimming or cropping samples, which is an essential part of the functionality in my opinion. Add on to this that there is NO warp function within Sampler? This seems like two substantial steps backwards. Is there any way around this? I already put a ticket in to Ableton support and want a refund if that's how it is. It seems like those would be two easy fixes that would greatly increase the function of Sampler - I mean it is the premium Simpler, no?

Anyways... buyer beware :( ~

ctrl + left/right = select transient

ctrl + shift + left/right = select between transients

ctrl + space = play selection

And there was no way to view/read the manual first? Before big purchases, I download and read manuals first to be shure it is up the game for me.........

While Push 2's Simpler integration is really good, Sampler's integration is lacking. At some point, the Abes really need to take a good look at Sampler's Push 2 integration and make some improvements.
