fun with guitars search
Hello.
Guitar player for years, producing more on the dance vein but want to incorporate my guitars. Need ideas or direction with racks for turning a fender into something more synthy, weirder, techno perhaps.
Ideas por favor

Fuzz (Pedal), Frequency Shifter, Reverb, Grain Delay...
There's some M4L Ircamax stuff that does convert audio to midi so you can play synths from your guitar input. Don't expect this to be fun easily but there's sure loads to experiment.

Take a look at Electro-Harmonix range of stuff. They do quite a lot of synth-style pedals for guitar. Though there’s a lot you can do with a basic setup of e.g. a wah, volume pedal (for swells, or use the Strat’s volume knob), octaver, delays/reverb, compressor and fuzz/distortion.
Another option is to consider using amp sims and effects in a DAW, though personally I prefer pedals and a real amp.
The Chords of Orion youtube channel is worth looking at for ideas.

check out a youtube show called That Pedal Show. all they do is talk about guitar pedal effects, huge fan.

best pedal I have for stuff like that is the Boss TE2 Tera Echo, it's used in Subterranian Homesick Alien by Radiohead

I also have a Line 6 PODHD500X for a wide variety of freaky FX. their older FX boxes can be bought for cheap.
agreed on Electro Harmonix, for BASS guitar I have their Bass Micro Synth, it basically uses the bass as an oscillator input to a synth like device. it gets freaky.

You use can auto filter to inhibit some kind of a wah-wah effect
Re: fun with guitars search
Check it the app/plugin called Midi Guitar. You can use it to play any synth you want, and the tracking is the best I've ever used.

You mean this one? https://www.jamorigin.com
If so I agree it's about the best guitar to MIDI thing around at the moment. Far cheaper than a Roland hardware setup, more reliable and fewer quirks as well.

There is a (paid) M4L MIDI Guitar, it is pretty decent, had fun with it.

I doubt it is better than Jam Origin's (which was pretty good when I tested it years ago), but it is way cheaper.
