I've searched the forum and can't find exactly what my issue is so here goes:
I will open up my live set, say five times, and all of my clips (mp3's) will be already loaded and ready to use. Once in a while, the clips aren't loaded, and each slowly begins to load - this slows my CPU to a standstill and I then have to wait until all of my clips load - waiting is horrible.
How can I adjust my settings to make this problem go away? Is this a cache issue? Thanks. General performance settings would be also appreciated (Sony Vaio 3.4/1 GB RAM/7200 HD).
Clips Load/Decode randomly, help
Hi ajstrax,
could you please try if that happens also with the latest beta of Live 5.0.2?

In Live 5.0.1 a mp3 files will be re-analyzed if something of that file has changed meanwhile, also if it as a minor change.
For example, drag in a mp3 file, Live 5.0.1 then analyze it. So far so good.
If you later change any ID3 tag of that mp3 file so that its modification data is changed Live will reanalyze this file again.
This is fixed within the beta so you might try it out.

Alex

Thanks Alex - I don't believe that I changed any of the tags, but it may be possible. Two questions:
1. If I download the beta, does anything happen to my current sets, data?
2. In 5.01, if I copy a clip within the same set and set loop markets in different places, that does not change any tags/metadata of that track, correct?
Thanks.

Hi ajstrax,
under circumstances it can be enough to play an MP3 in any player to change implicitly an ID3 tag.
Same is valid if the Live 5.0.2 final is released.

If you want to be 100% sure you should make a complete copy of any of your sets and then play with the beta to get sure that nothing is broken by mistake.1. If I download the beta, does anything happen to my current sets, data?

Yes, because we do not write anything to the physical audio file.2. In 5.01, if I copy a clip within the same set and set loop markets in different places, that does not change any tags/metadata of that track, correct?
