Undo doesn't remove recorded audio?

Post by mikeyboy75 » Tue Jun 30, 2020 4:13 pm

Hi, it's taken me a little while to realise, but when I undo the recording of an audio track, it still keeps the recording in the audio pool.

Why is this? I use undo because I didn't like the recording, and I do dozens of these for every session. Now I find out the unused 'mistakes' are still there, and you have to manually remove them (which sometimes doesn't work).

Could there be an option to change this behaviour? I can't see why anyone would want to keep the audio they've just undone?

Many thanks,
Mike

would you rather Live be allowed to delete files based on some rules you have to look up somewhere? that would REALLY piss people off.

Hmm, that's a good point. I was assuming it would have its own internal pool that wasn't saved with the project.

If I do dozens of takes (which I do) why on earth would I want to keep them all?

You can purge the project by managing the files.
MacBook Pro 13" Retina i7 2.8 GHz OS 10.13, L10.0.1, M4L.
MacStudio M1Max 32Go OS 12.3.1
