It's a mystery. there seems to be no system any more. There used to be, but not any more.
We can create a Live-Pack of a bunch of Instrument rack presets.
Collect all and save, manage project: create pack.
Now, the old system for installing these presets in this pack was as described by Nico here
viewtopic.php?p=1157379#p1157379
But Live no longer has a function of "export to library"
Now we put our presets in the User Library. But there is no connection between the File->"install Live Pack". and any kind of system which adds presets to the User Library.
What happens now is : the install Live Pack asks for a location. If we choose the User Library it will fail, because it's trying to put a project inside a project, which is illegal.
If we try to choose an arbitrary location like the desktop, we are left simply with an Project on the desktop, we can manually open that folder and in our OS, copy and paste the .adg files into our User Library location by manually browsing to
Windows: \Users\[username]\Documents\Ableton\User Library
Mac: Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Music/Ableton/User Library
and pasting them in.
But in technical speak this is what we might call "totally shit"
So, what is the method?
SURELY Ableton didn't build this Browser and Pack management system to lock out users and service 3rd party licensees at the expense of user experience? That surely didn't happen.
