Plugins disappearing from view too quickly

Post by crawling wind » Tue Aug 18, 2020 4:46 pm

I recently upgraded to 10, but haven’t used it much. When I open up a plug-in for edit, it stays on screen for a very short time, before disappearing- a click will bring it back into view. I have not had this experience before, and it is frustrating. I like to keep my synths open on 2nd window, for “synthing”. It’s not a question of switching to another track and losing focus. I do know about the preferences tab, and it is set correctly. My only other host, Numerology, is not having this problem.

I’m using a 2012 Mac Mini with usb kybd and trackpad. Mojave and the latest Live release.

If anybody has an idea for what I can check, I would appreciate it. I’m checking here before contacting Customer Support.

Thank you

Have you tried turning off the auto close/one window open at a time function? I know that isn't exactly what you were talking about but if they still close then there certainly seems to be a bug.

Yes, I tried that. I was hoping that was the problem as well.

customer support at Ableton is non-existent. I've NEVER read on here someone thanking them. it's mostly people pissed off that they NEVER RESPOND to peoples' requests.

have you played with your graphics settings? sometimes Live works better if you add GPU support.

maybe it's time to ditch Live? this is basic crap, do you want to deal with this for a $500 piece of software? damn...
