Diminished Effects on Groups

Post by SilenceMayhem » Fri Sep 18, 2020 12:07 pm

Does anyone know if the processing of the signal works differently on groups rather than on individual tracks?
What I mean is that the faders for the volume increase differently than on individual channels, specifically less audible volume increase from the grouped track, rather than an individual track, which just seems odd.
Also, the mono/stereo compatibility seem to be different. It may be placebo but I even feel that the sidechaining gets washed out when being used on a group.

Secondly, in Ableton 9 you couldn't group groups but in 10 it's possible. But, if you have let's say different drum sounds which are grouped and then you group them in a 'drum bus', will that actually be a drum bus or would that group have a different function?
