Sorry if this is a repost, I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
In Live 9, they had a thing called the Options.txt file, which I used to detach my two APC40s so I could look at different areas of the project with them, by inserting the code -DontCombineAPCs into the file. Reference:
https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... s-txt-file
This option was essential to how I do live performances.
I just upgraded to 10, and it seems the "options.txt" file has been depreciated according to the link. When I try it, it doesn't seem to work. Is there another way to get this functionality in Live 10?
Options.txt depreciated in Live 10 ... -DontCombineAPCs workaround?

Simple syncing of two control surfaces is a feature of ClyphX Pro...

Re: Options.txt depreciated in Live 10 ... -DontCombineAPCs workaround?
I read through the website, and I don't see how that would fix my problem. I want the controllers un-synced, and Ableton is automatically syncing them and I can't tell Ableton not to do it. Ableton is gluing the clip launch grids of both APCs together into one wider grid, and that's not what I want it to do. I want it to allow me to move the two clip launch grids independently. This old options.txt line served that purpose in Ableton Live 9, and it doesn't seem to work in 10.
This is a big enough problem for me that I'm thinking about going back to Live 9, but I only have a Live 10 license. Is there no way to do this in Live 10?

That link doesn't say options.txt has been deprecated, and it still works for me (I use it for the -enablemaptosiblings command). In fact -dontcombineAPCs is still on it. So not sure what is happening here.

Re: Options.txt depreciated in Live 10 ... -DontCombineAPCs workaround?
My reading of the help page linked to by the OP is that the only thing deprecated in Live 10 is the stuff under the heading “ThinningAggressiveness (Live 9 Only)”
There is the overall warning that the options.txt file may cease to be supported some time in the future, but Live 10 does allow the use of options.txt at the moment. I’m using it now an have used it successfully through all sub-versions of 10 to reduce the load Live 10 places on the Mac WindowServer.
