Warp mode: Set to Tones but always opens beats
Warp mode: Set to Tones but always opens beats
I have my "Default Warp Mode" set to tones, but each time I flatten a midi clip , it sets the warp mode to beats. It's been doing this ever since I upgraded to Live 10 from 9. IT doesn't appear to happen when I drag an audio clip from the browser to an audio track... Anyone else notice this? Suggestions on how to remedy this?

Well, that's how it is, and I don't know why either (same behaviour in L9 btw).
I'm gonna ask around.

Hey Tintala,
As from the Audio Fact Sheet from the manual:
But there's a contradiction here indeed as except for Complex and Complex Pro, every other warp modes are neutral so it would make sense to stick to the warp mode set before freezing and/or the user's default setting.
If you're on the Centercode beta testing platform, I'd suggest to either create a Suggestion for this feature to evolve / or vote for a Suggestion if it already exists.
If not, you can check here on the Feature Wishlist sub-forum.

so this is definitely by design. At this stage I don't have any explanation about what this was designed this way, though.Frozen clips are always played back with Warp on and in Beats mode, which means they are subject to the same non-neutral behavior as any other Warped audio files.
