Reinstalling from Trial HELP!!!

Hey there, I have created numerous sets, instrument racks, and templates that I don't want to lose when reinstalling after my trial ends and I reinstall the software.
1) Should I uninstall previous version first?
2) Should I save all my files in a separate folder?
3) How do I make sure they get to the right places when reinstalled?

Honestly I'm a little upset that I can't just put in a license key from the trial version.

1) Not really.
2) As long as you they are in a user folder outside Live's install folder they will be fine. Don't put your user files in Live's install folder (in fact, don't put user files in system-protected folders in general). But you should always backup your work, regardless of reinstalls.
3) New installs of Live should pick up the settings of old versions.
