Latency on New MacBook pro

Grateful for any advice. Ive used live for years now and have never had any tech issues... until i replaced my old macbook pro with a new maccbook pro and have and now have an ever slight delay between hitting my midi keyboard and hearing my vst synths make noise.

ive tried a few differnent vsts and ableton's own synths = same delay.

my set up is really simple, its all software synths and a basic usb connected keyboard.

what could have changed? new computer (with much more power) but same OS and hardware.

Only difference I can think of is that i have the new type of usb connections and im therefore using what i would call an 'adapted' to connect my old style usb keyboard into the side of my mac book. SO my next idea would be to buy a different sort of cable to cut out the adapter. but dont wanna waste cash.

Any suggestions?

What are you using as an audio interface?

What is the audio driver buffer set to in Live’s preferences? Ideally you need to get it below around 10 milliseconds or thereabouts on the output side (the input buffer only affects incoming audio).

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. New MBP with all the bells and whistles, and a push 2. Buffer at 128, however even if I go to 32 I hear CPU spiking a little (not concerned) however the latency still exists. Tried changing sample rate to 96000 still nothing.


My set up
MBP 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 32 GB, running macOS Catalina latest version
Interface: NI Komplete Audio 6.
Push 2
