The Live 11 announcement has got me really excited, especially the new probability features in the piano roll and proper MPE support.
I browsed the Ableton subreddit and came across someone who said that Push 2 is MPE compatible but I haven't been able to verify this elsewhere. Anybody here know if this is true?
Also, let's say that it isn't: is it as easy as rolling out a software update for the Push 2 to be compatible, or would I have to buy yet another controller just to be able to access this feature?
Thanks in advance

So there are 5 possible MPE parameters.
Push can support polyphonic Aftertouch, Release, and Velocity. There are two more that I cannot see how it would support, glide (basically a multitimbral CC value) and pitch. basically soft pads are not going to be compatible with sliding between notes, and I do to believe there's any left/right type sensors in the pads to give vibrato. up and down sliding is also not a feature.
So Push 2 will be able to support polyphonic aftertouch (unless they just don't bother allowing it to), but it really isn't going to be a good MPE controller. This is the one argument I can believe has some truth to it when it comes to a possible Push 3.

It's Polyphonic Aftertouch support obviously. Machinesworking explained very well the reasons why.
And it works great.

Push 2 Aftertouch could be better - you really have to mash the buttons before it kicks in.
Not the most musical for expression if you're trying to play a chord and have different responses from each pressed note.
Much less move from note to note or chord to chord.
Hoping Abes will do something about this.

I never like its AT either... but its Polyphonic Aftertouch sensitivity is excellent imo.
