Using MIDI CC to scroll in the Browser Pane(?)

Post by Birds-n-Synths » Tue Nov 17, 2020 3:54 pm

Hello, musical peeps! (Side note: I don't know whether to post this in either here or in Feature Wishlist, so I'm posting it here.)

Earlier today, I had wondered if there was away to use MIDI CC (the two leftmost knobs on my MiniLab mkII) to scroll through the Browser Pane and having the clicking action of the knobs be the "left-click", opening/closing a folder.

So far, I haven't really found anything useful.

Would someone help me out?

Not directly but if the controls are encoders (endless) and you can set them to just send NPN signals (just instruct to send an Inc/Dec instead of an absolute value) then you can use 3rd party software such as Bome Midi Translator to convert the midi signals to key/mouse commands. Be warned tho, this kind of solution requires some understanding in configuring virtual midi ports, routing your devices through these ports and how to figure out some basic scripting commands... all easily searchable via Google but you do need a bit of an aptitude for that kind of setup.
