Setting project tempo to a midi clip i recorded

Post by IvanJones » Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:19 pm

So I often just open up Live and hit record just to get what is in my head down. I do not bother to tap a temp and play to a click. My question is, how do I take the midi clip i recorded at 120 and adjust the project tempo so that my 4 bar loop sits at the proper tempo?

You can actually do something even smoother than this.

Have you ever experimented with using the Capture button? With that, you can have Live stopped. And tinker around on the keys. If you like the most recent thing you did, hit Capture, and it suddenly appears in the next available clip slot. Live also changes the tempo to suit that clip.
