Hi folks, I posted this one on GearSlutz, but we never really resolved the issue unfortunately, and recently it's become even more of an issue. Hope you can help out a new producer like myself!
"Hey folks, this one's been a real head-scratcher for me:
I recently purchased Ableton Live 10, and started working on a new song. Today, I noticed the kick drum I created with the analog synth gradually changed the way it sounded over time - I had no LFOs or automation/modulation running.
I originally noticed it because the frequency shape in my EQ would change significantly with every beat, and although removing the sub oscillator made this more uniform, there was still some strange variation I couldn't account for.
As my MacBook is pretty ancient, I wondered if it was causing some issues with latency (although, haven't found any indication that latency affects the way something sounds at all). So I changed the buffer size from 128 to 1024 samples, and boom! Very obvious fluctuations in sound. I didn't hear any difference from my other synths and percussions though.
Hovering over each instrument while they are playing says their latency is zero (although overall latency is reading at 8.25ms). I tried exporting the live set to an external HD and playing it from there, but no change. Disabling other plugins connecting to the track didn't help either.
I don't even know where to start with this, so your help is worth its weight in gold. Thanks!"

How to stop Analog synth kick from oscillating?
Re: How to stop Analog synth kick from oscillating?
I've never inspected this one that closely, but maybe it is the analog nature: an analog synth produces slightly different results each time.
And posting the preset for others to check might help.
