External Instrument with Audio Effects

Post by LarZ2 » Wed Jan 13, 2021 7:19 am

Ableton Live 10 on a PC. I just upgraded to a new computer and have everything working except one issue.

I have a Yamaha MODX keyboard that has a great tenor sax sound. I use an External Instrument track for that keyboard, and PUSH Midi out to control it.
Before I changed computers, I was able to drop Audio Effects and VST effects on the External Instrument track to modify the sound.
I can get some great sax sounds using a lot of delay and effects.

With this new computer and new install of Ableton, I am not able to get the effects to work on the External Instrument track.
I can drop them on there, but the sound is not going thru the effects. It worked before, What is the trick I am missing here.

Found it. My audio Input in Preferences was set to a default.
I'm back having fun with my with echo, delay, doubler on my sax sound.
