I was just wondering, is anybody using L5 (5.01 to 5.02b8) without having ANY troubles and crashes at all? If so, what machine are You running?
I for example have an ibook g4 768Mb and I am getting more and more pissed off the abes!!! L4 was so smooth (also crashed, but only once a month) and L5 is just crap!
Right now I am using the newest beta. Although they seem to be a bit more stable than 5.01, they still crash. It's not some certain bug which freaks me out, it's just unstable in general (copy/paste, select all, insert time, etc let it not reproducible crash) and my .alps take around 15mins to get written! They have 460Mb and I will definetly not send them back.
I had email contact with some guy from the abes, here's his last response:
... which pissed me off! The changelogs tell me that the software I paid for had shitloads of bugs. It's not new features which get introduced in 5.02, it's just bug fixes with (so far) 8 betas. Yes, GOOD software needs a good amount of testing and debugging, but BEFORE release! Why did the abes release it too early, why do customers have to test, debug and compensate the lack of developers? I won't be patient, I paid 450€ for using a stable L5 ... NOW!simply take a look at the changlelogs of the last 7 beta versions, they speak for themselfesPlease believe me, our development is really working hard, but good software needs a good amount of testing and debugging and we're not a company with hundreds or thousands of developers. Please be patient and submit experiences in the forum if you come across new ones.
