Anyone here who is using "remotify"?

Post by distantnoise » Mon Jan 25, 2021 1:15 pm

https://remotify.io/

Is anyone here who used the web or desktop app? I want to customize my Akai APC40 MK2 and wonder how deep the tool goes.
I read the website but haven't tried the free version yet, therefore I ask for some user experiences...

Thanks

I've been using the desktop app for a couple of weeks now. It's kind of pricey, but overall it's super powerful, and I'm surprised it hasn't seemed to catch on much around here. I certainly had a few difficult moments getting up to speed; some of that's due to a lack of comprehensive documentation (some videos, some blog posts, some spotty docs), and it's not entirely bug free, but on the other hand support is quick & responsive, and the app totally works as advertised. So far, anything I can think of, it can handle.

I wanted to integrate a couple of custom foot switches with a tabletop controller so that I could reassign the foot switches on the fly to trigger whatever I select with the desktop controller. I was able to get that happening easily by setting up red boxes (aka session boxes) on both devices with 'combination mode', which syncs the two controllers. Works flawlessly. The web version doesn't have the red box controls, so you won't be able to try that out with the free version, but you can at least get an idea of the interface & workflow. Anyway, for my two cents, highly recommended.

I’ve used it with a midi fighter twister and a launchpad and it works great.

Can anyone tell me if Remotify would allow me to see the name of the parameter I'm controlling on the encoder screen of a Korg microKONTROL?
