Hello
I'm pretty new to all this and could really use some help!!!
I have finished recording a song which includes multiple midi and audio tracks, could someone please tell me how I can export it all together as one audio file (ideally an mp3) as I am struggling to do it.
I'm using ableton 10 lite.
Many thanks
Exporting a whole song
Re: Exporting a whole song
Highlight the whole track in the arrangement view. Then go file>export audio/video, choose the settings you want, e.g. mp3 and press export and it will create the audio file of the arrangement as one audio file for you where ever you save it
Re: Exporting a whole song
Thank you. Will this work for multiple tracks? I'm assuming crt A in the arrangement view will highlight all?
Re: Exporting a whole song
Yes, if you select across multiple tracks, it will render them all into one file.
Ctrl-A works for different contexts, so it depends where you click first. It will work as you want if you click inside one of the track lanes. Ctrl-A will select across all tracks the time frame from the beginning of the first sample/midi clip to the last.
Sometimes however you might want a space before or after the first / last clips - for example, if you have along reverb or delay effect at the end of your track as a fadout, Live will cut this off if you simply select with CTRL-A. I usually use the Arrangement Loop brace to select my render start / end points. I stretch the loop to where I want Live to render and click on it - this will select the entire region (across all tracks) under the loop.
