Next empty clip slot..?

Hi,

In the previous version 9 of Ableton there was a function (NEW) that prepared recording to next free/empty slot in the same scene.
It was very useful as a guitarist because I could trigger that function with my midi foot controller.
Now I have to return to my computer and set that with the mouse.

How can I do this?

There is an option to select next scene, but what you're asking has never existed.

It existed in version 9:
From the manual: "To stop playback and prepare for a new “take,” press the New button. This stops the clips
in all armed tracks selects a scene where new clips can be recorded, creating a new scene
if necessary."

Damn you're right (and I personally hated this). I'm sure it's still here in another form but I can't find this anymore.

Away from computer..
...but I am quite sure that this "new" button only appears when you are in "edit map midi" mode.
Maybe you can only map it but not click on it directly..
...not very sure. Try to click "midi" at the top right corner, this new button will maybe appear..

No, it's both in edit and standard mode. You can set a midi controller to trigger it.

As Schlam said, the "New" button appears when you're in key/midi map mode since L10.
