Hi, so I have a Windows computer and I accidently changed the folder for plugins on my computer.
Under Plugins in Preferences, I chose a random folder by accident for VST2 Plugin Custom Folder and now I can't find the original folder. This means that all of my Plugins are now gone in Ableton. I tried finding C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins and C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins, but the folder for Ableton just doesn't exist anymore.
I'd really appreciate if someone helped me. Thank you.
There's no VSTPlugins folder on my computer for Ableton
Re: There's no VSTPlugins folder on my computer for Ableton
You need to figure out where the plugins are installed and re link the folder.
See here for default plugin locations: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... on-Windows
Also check the Common Files folder or look for a Steinberg folder, sometimes they get put in there.

I think my Plugins are just located in downloads. Is there a specific folder that I should put them in?

Nevermind. Figured it out. Thank you for the help!
Re: There's no VSTPlugins folder on my computer for Ableton
That's probably the installer file.
The actual plugins will end in the extension .dll for VST 2 plugins and end in .vst3 for VST 3 plugins.
I would use the recommended folders in the link that I posted.
When you install a plugin it will probably default to those locations but you often are given the option of changing that. So if you can't find anything reinstall the plugins and pay attention to where they are getting put.
