Live 11 Bug? Not showing whole wave representation after project save
I was just recording some bass on just one track playing along with another track, and after I saved the project to my drive, the rendering of the recording doesn't show the whole audio wave. If you look at the image, the top track is a song (mp3, and yes, it's The Office theme song), and the bottom track is my bass recording. As you can see, the wave stops mid recording, but when I play it back, it goes all the way to the end of the song. Is this a known bug in L11?

Hmm, I'm surprised that no one else is seeing this bug. It's kind of a serious one, because you cannot edit the sample without being able to see it. On the other hand, if I close and re-open Live, the problem goes away and I can see the whole wave. But still, it's a very annoying graphical glitch. I hope they fix it.

Haven't seen this so far, but just being curious: is this on a MAC or on a Win machine? Just asking cause I've seen one or two (not sure whether they are the same or not) minor oddities on my Win10 machine that I don't see on my MAC

Check in the folder where the recording is, I believe there will be a file of the same name, different extension, that holds the waveform data. Could be some issue caused it to not completely build the waveform. If you delete that file then it should rebuild the waveform i'm guessing.

I’ve been dealing with this for years
Re: Live 11 Bug? Not showing whole wave representation after project save
This is on Windows 10. I also have the "Create Analysis File" ticked off in preferences. I don't need this feature because my projects are really small. Maybe it's a bug related to that. It is very annoying, because now I have to save and close the app and reopen it again for everything I record. Ugh!
Re: Live 11 Bug? Not showing whole wave representation after project save
Just re-enable the Analysis File then.

This doesn't fix the problem. The analysis file is to optimize loading the files, not enable/disable the view of the wave. What I've posted above is a defect (that I guess not everyone is experiencing). The only workaround to this is to close the app and open it again.

Josefreak, should we understand that it's happening everytime you record something?

Yes:
- Create new project
- Create a new audio track
- Plugin bass, guitar, or mic and arm the track for recording
- Hit F9 to start recording
- After recording, notice the length of the wave in the track
- Ctrl-C to save the project
- Notice the wave shorter but the audio of the recording plays to the end (you can see the screen grab I've added above)
On a side note, Live 11 crashes on me almost every time I launch it the first time for the day (it has the same problem with L10). Subsequent launches will work. It's rather strange that it's always the first time after I first boot up my computer. I see the splash screen, but then it just exits. Could be plugin related, but I don't have many. I've sent numerous crash reports. I suppose it's possible that these 2 problems are related in some way.
Re: Live 11 Bug? Not showing whole wave representation after project save
You seem to have very unexpected stuff happening with Live, and since you're seeing this with multiple version I'd say there's something conflicting with it on your setup.
Sending crashes is very nice for analysis, but if you need feedback/answers/help then you need to write to [email protected]
And it sounds like you should do it.
