Lost all of my color code(collections) at some point.
Lost all of my color code(collections) at some point.
So not a long time I noticed that my collections(color codes) became almost empty. I spent a lot of time organizing my instruments with color codes and now I don't have strength to go thorough them once more. Furthermore it feel twice so frustrating knowing it might happen again.
It looks like Core Library files remain with their color codes, while other installed packs don't have color codes whatsoever.
My User Library is under "~/Music/Ableton/User Library" while my installed packs(Installation Folder for Packs) are on my external hard drive which is being backed up to the cloud.
I've update to High Sierra not a long time ago - might it be it cause?
Also I've noticed that mounting point for my hard drive change a bit after an update, however Ableton sees all packs stored there.
Any suggestions?

I have backup of my external hard drive. Not sure if they store snapshots of my old backups. But before that I need to know what files to look for and where.Stromkraft wrote:What backups do you have?rsht wrote: Any suggestions?

Are you switching between Live10 beta and the released version?

Re: Lost all of my color code(collections) at some point.
Just happened to me - using 10.0.3. I may have opened the beta version a day or two ago, to see if it updated (to 10.0.3B8), but did not access any files. Sometime in the last 24 hours I lost two categories of audio effects, using green tagged "vocal" & yellow tagged as "instrument". The specialized audio effects I created are still in the browser in their original place, but without colors, so the ability to use categories to locate these effects was wiped out. I have to re-do. Don't think I did anything to cause this....
Re: Lost all of my color code(collections) at some point.
I ignored the 10.2. update because of all the problems. Today I decided to finally update from 10.1 to 10.4 and it destroyed my collections completely. I can restore 10.1 easily via TimeMachine and get them back BUT seriously Ableton?! A bug gets carried over 4 months since 10.2 came out?
Is there any solution to update and keep your collections?

From the 10.0.3 release notes:
Browser
Color labels are now stored in the same file system folder as the files they are attached to, which makes it easier to manage browser items and their assigned colors across different Live installations.

Re: Lost all of my color code(collections) at some point.
Just tried to update from Love 10 to Live 11, and I don't have my collections anymore.
I reloaded Live 10 and the collections are still there, so that's hopeful. I tried a number of suggested workarounds from other Live users and nothing seems to work. I'll stick with Live 10 for a while. Any new suggestions on this problem?

Yes, I had this.
On osx, you can copy and past from the previous version.
Just open the Live Package with right click and copy: Contents/Libraries : "libUSFLIB.dylib" to the same path in Live 11
works for me !
But, all my Audiohadware settings like the names of the input and output a gone too.
anybody with this ? Is there a way like that ?

THANK YOU all for the above. Saved my ass!
One small addition for anyone trying to find the Library.cfg and Preferences.cfg files...
