Problem with HD backup via ethernet

Post by 3phase » Wed Oct 05, 2005 5:10 am

Following problem that might be related to Ableton or indirekt related..
I better report it.

I transfered a big folder with projekt data from my Apple Powerbook to a PC with plenty empty HD space and a fast double LAYER DVD writer...

After the transfer lots of files was corupted.. I had to find them by hand.
They refused to be copied, and they refuse to get erased from the PC´s HD.
They are plainly unaccesable.

98% of theese corrupted filles are live clips that got auto named..
like 0013 1 A aso.
Only a quarter to a third of all clip files are the ones with the numbers.

The other manual named corupted files are also Live clips...
Any plain Aiff files even long ones, any .als files, any Session and Logic files stayed clean.

Of cause the Live clips outnumber any other filetype...
But there are as many .als files as clips.

I wonder if the corruption is related with too many files with the same name?
But why it happens only to audiodata clip files?

Have others experianced similar problems?

All corrupted files was done in Live 4
