Latency when playing back recorded audio that appears latency free

Hi

So Ive tried a new way of working today where Ive sequenced a whole track in midi, including synth automations and then recorded the whole thing in from external synths and drum machine in one hit. Well, 2 hits actually, one for the synths and another for the drums from TR8S, using it as an audio interface. All seemed fine, the recordings suggest that everything has been recorded free of latency - all the kicks start bang on in the wav, but when playing them back Im getting a lag of about a second on all the recordings. So, as Im watching the line move across the timeline, it hits the first kick bang on, but I dont hear it for about half a bar. Ive not come across this before, its as if Im getting latency between my audio file in Ableton and the audio interface my laptop is going into. If the wavs look correct have I recorded everything latency free, but theres just something else now going on? Anyone had this before and know what I might do to correct?
